Description

1200L Bright Beer Tank for Craft Breweries

A 1200L bright beer tank is usually the last vessel before packaging. It receives beer after primary fermentation or maturation, holds it under controlled pressure, and gives you a stable point for carbonation, clarification, and cold storage. In a microbrewery running 10–15 bbl batches, this size fits one brew with headspace for foam control and carbonation stone operation.

We build these as pressure vessels, not simple storage tanks. Shell and dish ends are 304 stainless steel as standard; 316L is available for aggressive water chemistry or mixed beverage work. Internal welds are ground flush and passivated. Product-contact surfaces are polished to Ra ≤0.8 µm where required. Exterior finish can be brushed or mirror-polished, depending on washdown routine and whether the tank sits in an open cellar.

Cooling comes from a dimpled or channel jacket on the side and cone. That jacket does more than crash cooling. It provides enough area to hold 1–3°C during carbonation and storage, particularly when the cellar is warm or the tank is filled to 80–85%. A 1200L tank commonly runs at 1.5–2 bar working pressure, with safety valve and pressure gauge set to local codes. Test pressure and working pressure are different numbers; do not mix them.

Standard connections include CIP spray ball, sample valve, carbonation stone port, racking arm, pressure relief, and glycol inlet/outlet. We place them to keep hoses short and let one operator work the tank. If you carbonate in-tank, specify the stone assembly and dedicated gas inlet. If you transfer bright beer from another tank, the racking arm and sight glass matter more than extra ports.

FAQ

Can I carbonate in this tank? Yes, with a carbonation stone, gas inlet, and pressure-rated relief. We need your target CO2 volume and glycol temperature.

304 or 316L? 304 handles most brewery water and cleaning chemistry. 316L makes sense with high chloride, sour beer, or mixed beverage production.

What space is required? Allow room for the cone, valve access, CIP return, and glycol hoses. A 1200L tank often needs about 2.2–2.5 m ceiling height, but dimensions vary by leg and fitting layout.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
