Description

Fermenters and Bright Tanks from 10,000 L to 20,000 L

Most brewery expansions hit the same wall: fermentation capacity runs out before the brewhouse does. We build 10,000 L, 15,000 L and 20,000 L fermenters, unitanks and bright beer tanks for breweries moving from 20–30 hL batches into full production schedules.

Tank construction

Standard vessels use SUS304 on the product side, with 316L available for high-chloride water, sour beers or aggressive CIP chemistry. Shell thickness runs 3–4 mm depending on diameter and pressure rating; cones and dished heads are matched to the same standard. Interior welds are ground, pickled and passivated, then polished to Ra ≤ 0.8 µm on the product contact surface. Exterior can be 2B mill finish, brushed or mirror polished. Every jacket is hydro-tested and the tank is pressure-tested before shipment.

Cooling and pressure

Dimple or laser-welded cooling jackets cover the cone and lower shell. For 20,000 L tanks we usually specify two or three independent zones so crash cooling does not fight active fermentation. Working pressure is normally 0.2–0.3 MPa, with a safety valve and pressure gauge set at the tank rating. CIP is done through a rotating spray ball in the dish; the racking arm, sample valve and dry-hop port are positioned where operators can actually reach them.

FAQ

How do I choose between a unitank and a bright tank? If you carbonate in the same vessel, a unitank with a higher pressure rating and carbonation stone saves transfers. If you filter or centrifuge first, a dedicated bright tank with a lower cone angle works better.

Do I need a conical bottom? For ale and lager fermentation, yes. A 60° cone gives yeast a place to settle and lets you dump without losing beer. Bright tanks can use a shallower cone or flat bottom.

What information do you need for a quote? Batch size, beer type, number of tanks, available ceiling height and door width, glycol temperature, and whether the tank will be indoors or outdoors.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
