Description
A 1000L conical fermenter usually lands in the middle of a small brewery floor — big enough to fill a 20 hl bright tank in one transfer, small enough that two people can dry hop and CIP it without a platform.
We build the shell from 3 mm SS304 plate and the cone from 2 mm, TIG welded and pickled after welding. Interior welds are ground flush and polished to Ra ≤ 0.8 µm. Outside, you get a #4 brushed finish, or mirror polish if the tank will sit in the taproom. The cone runs at 60°, steep enough that yeast slides down without a rake — which matters when you crop for repitching.
The double jacket covers the cylinder and, on request, the cone as well. Glycol at -4°C enters through a 1.5\” tri-clamp and leaves through a separate port so you can run counterflow. We size cooling area from your crash schedule, not from volume alone: 1000L of ale dropping from 20°C to 2°C in 24 hours needs roughly 1.2 m² of jacket surface.
Working pressure is 0.3 MPa on the vessel and 0.2 MPa on the jacket. Each unit ships with a spring-loaded safety valve set at the design pressure, a pressure gauge, and a 100 mm dry-hop port. If you plan to carbonate in the tank, say so at inquiry — we will build to a higher test pressure and add a carbonation stone port.

Questions we get before quoting
Do I need a cone jacket? Only if you crash cool hard or run lagers. Ales held in a 20°C room often run fine on a cylinder jacket.
How does CIP reach the cone? A fixed spray ball at the top, 3–5 m/s return velocity, and a racking arm you rotate by hand covers it. Nozzles placed too low leave the cone shoulder unwashed.
304 or 316L? 304 handles standard wort and cleaning cycles. Kettle sours and chloride-heavy water justify 316L.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
