Description
Where a 10HL Tank Fits
A 1000L conical fermenter is usually specified for a 5HL brewhouse running double batches, or a 10HL brewhouse filling one tank per brew. Insulation matters most in cellars without tight climate control, or where tanks sit near a boiler room or a loading dock. Without it, a 2–3°C ambient swing pulls the beer off target and the glycol chiller works harder than it should.
Shell, Cone and Weld Details
The inner shell is 3mm SUS304 as standard; we move to 316L when a brewery runs sour programs, salted styles, or chloride-based sanitation. A 60° cone gives enough trub and hop compaction for dry-hopped ales without an oversized standpipe. TIG welds are argon-purged on the product side, then ground, pickled and passivated. Interior finish is 2B by default, with 0.4µm mirror polishing for lager and yeast-forward work. A 400mm top manway, racking arm, sample valve and CIP spray ball come standard; dry hop ports and carbonation stones are optional.
Jacket, Pressure and Relief
Cooling runs through a dimple-plate jacket split between cone and body, fed with glycol at 2–4°C. That holds roughly an 8–10°C differential during active fermentation. Product-side working pressure is 1.5 bar, with the relief valve set at 1.8–2.0 bar — enough headroom for spunding and natural carbonation, with a defined release point so the shell is never the weak link. Each tank is hydro-tested before shipment and the PRV certificate travels with it.

Common Questions
Two cooling zones or one? Below 15HL, one zone per tank is normally enough. Above that, or with fast lager fermentation, separate cone and body zones prevent stratification.
Can it carbonate naturally? Yes, up to the PRV set pressure. Anything higher belongs in a bright beer tank.
How is CIP handled? The spray ball covers the interior; you supply pump, caustic and a hot rinse cycle.
304 or 316L? 304 suits clean ales and lagers. Pick 316L for sours, goses, or aggressive chloride sanitation.
Before requesting a quote, note your batch size, expected brews per week, cellar ambient temperature, glycol supply temperature, available headroom and door width, and whether the tank is for fermentation only or also conditioning. Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
