Description

Fermentation tanks for 7–20 BBL production

We manufacture isobaric conical fermenters in 7, 8, 10, 15, and 20 BBL sizes. They handle primary fermentation, dry hopping, and carbonation in one vessel. The isobaric rating allows counterpressure transfers, which reduces oxygen pickup and lets you package highly carbonated beer without a separate bright tank if your process allows.

Capacity choice should follow brewhouse output, not floor space alone. A 7 BBL tank suits a taproom with limited cold room height. A 20 BBL unit works when you have repeat batches, enough glycol capacity, and a ceiling that clears the cone and CIP arm. If your brewhouse makes 10 BBL, a 15 BBL fermenter may sit half empty or slow your turnover.

Stainless, welds, and cleanability

Standard tanks use SUS304 on wetted surfaces. For sour beer, mixed culture, or aggressive water chemistry, we recommend 316L. Inner welds are ground and passivated to limit crevices. Cooling jackets are dimple or channel type, covered with PU insulation and a 304 outer shell. We pressure-test every jacket and shell before shipment. Fittings typically include tri-clamp racking arm, sample valve, dry hop port, CIP spray ball, and pressure relief valve. Access orientation matters; we position ports so brewers can reach them from the floor, not from a ladder.

Temperature and pressure control

Glycol jackets on the cone and body hold fermentation temperature and allow crash cooling. On 15 and 20 BBL tanks, split jackets reduce stratification. Working pressure is usually 15–30 psi, but the final rating depends on shell thickness and cone design. The PRV protects the tank when a valve is closed and fermentation continues. CIP works best with a spray ball matched to tank diameter and a pump that delivers the required flow. Keep CIP and product lines separate.

FAQ

Can I carbonate in the fermenter? Yes, with a pressure-rated tank, carbonation stone, and PRV.

Do I need 316L? Only if your beer or water chemistry requires better chloride resistance.

What affects price most? Capacity, pressure rating, jacket area, finish, and fitting count.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
