Description
What This Tank Is Built For
This pressurized, cooling-jacketed conical fermenter is designed for brewers who need reliable fermentation temperature control, whether you run a 1 BBL pilot system or a 5 BBL production brewhouse. The conical bottom helps you drop yeast and trub cleanly without racking losses. The cooling jacket on the cone and/or side wall lets you crash cool, hold diacetyl rests, and ferment lagers without tying up your cellar space.
Materials and Fabrication
We build the tank body from 304 stainless steel as standard, with 316L available when your beer or cleaning chemicals demand better chloride resistance. Interior welds are ground and polished to a sanitary finish. Exterior welds are passivated to prevent corrosion at the heat-affected zone. The manway, racking arm, and sample valve all use food-grade EPDM or silicone gaskets that you can source locally.
Every jacket is pressure-tested before it leaves our shop. Working pressure for the inner tank typically runs 15–30 psi, and we set the adjustable pressure relief valve to your specified limit. That valve is not a suggestion—operate above its setting and you risk seam failure.
Cooling and CIP
Glycol flows through the jacket in a serpentine or dimple pattern. More jacket area means faster crashes, but also more load on your chiller. For 3 BBL and 5 BBL tanks, we usually add a second jacket zone on the cone. CIP is done through the spray ball in the manway; you need at least 25–30 psi at the inlet to get proper coverage. We can include a CIP pump and arm assembly if you do not already have one.

FAQ
What size do I need? Match the tank to your batch size, then leave 20–25% headspace for krausen. A 3 BBL batch should go into a 3.5–4 BBL fermenter, not a 3 BBL tank.
Can I use this for lagers and ales? Yes. The jacket handles both, but you will need a properly sized glycol chiller.
Do you supply piping and valves? We can quote a complete package including butterfly valves, sight glass, and sample valve.
Before you request a quote, know your batch size, target beer style, number of tanks, and available room height. Those four details drive the jacket area, cone angle, and fitting layout. Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
