Description

Turnkey brewhouse packages at 2000 L, 3000 L, and 4000 L are typically bought by breweries stepping up from a pilot system, or by beverage plants adding a second line. The layout we build most often is a two- or three-vessel brewhouse paired with conical fermenters, glycol jackets, and the CIP and cold-side piping that ties the loop together.

Tank fabrication

Fermenters are SUS304 as standard. We move to SUS316L for sour programs, fruit-heavy recipes, or where chlorinated cleaning agents are in daily use. Inner shell 3 mm, outer cladding 2 mm, 100 mm polyurethane between. Product-contact welds are TIG, ground, and passivated; interior finish runs 0.4–0.6 µm mechanical polish. Dimple or channel jackets cover 60–70% of shell height — enough surface to crash 2000 L from 20 °C to 2 °C inside 24 hours on 2–4 bar glycol. Each tank leaves with a 3 bar mechanical relief valve, sample valve, dry-hop port, and rotating CIP spray ball.

Where capacity choices go wrong

Buyers often size fermenters to the brewhouse instead of to turnaround time. Package in 7 days and one 4000 L tank can carry a 2000 L brewhouse. Dry-hop and condition for 21 days and you need roughly three times that volume. Cone bottoms earn their cost when you harvest yeast or dry-hop heavily; flat bottoms are cheaper but push yeast recovery downstream to filtration.

Common questions

Can these run under pressure? Yes, to 3 bar design. Carbonation above 2.6 vol usually means a separate brite tank.

How is CIP plumbed? Spray ball on a dedicated port, separate from the blow-off arm, so caustic reaches the cone without backflow into the fermenter headspace.

Can we add tanks later? Yes — we keep jacket and port positions consistent so a fourth or fifth tank drops into the same glycol header.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
