450L Fully Automatic Distillation Equipment for Brandy and Whiskey
We build this 450L fully automatic still for distilleries that have outgrown 200–300L batches but aren’t ready for a 1000L steam plant. Most customers choosing this size run brandy or whiskey programs with 8–12 hour distillation days and want repeatable cuts without standing over valves.

Automation matters most during heads and tails cuts. We program the run around your wash ABV, target proof, and cooling water temperature. The still holds steam or power input within a tight band, so the operator can focus on sensory cuts instead of chasing pressure.
Copper isn’t needed everywhere. We usually put copper in the vapor path—column sections, lyne arm, and condenser—while the pot can be stainless. For brandy, many clients add a gin basket for botanicals or a small reflux section for cleaner spirit. Agitator? Only if you’re distilling grain-in or fruit pulp that scorches easily.
Electric vs steam is a practical site decision. Electric is simpler for small rooms, but 450L needs serious power. Steam is steadier and cheaper at scale, though it requires a boiler, traps, and more maintenance. We’ve seen customers buy a 300L electric unit, then regret not planning for 450L steam once barrel sales grew.
Before we quote, send us: wash charge volume, desired proof, heating source, available steam pressure or kW, cooling water temp, ceiling height, floor drain location, and local electrical and hazardous-location rules. If your weekly runs are under three, a 300L may cost less to run. If you’re filling barrels weekly and want fewer operator adjustments, the 450L automatic model is the better fit.
