Description
5000L Double Jacket Insulated Fermentation Tank for Wine and Beer
This 5000-liter storage and fermentation tank is built for wineries and breweries that need consistent fermentation temperatures without excessive energy loss. The double cooling jacket design provides uniform heat transfer across the vessel wall, which is critical for preventing temperature stratification during active fermentation.
We fabricate the tank from SUS304 stainless steel as standard, with SUS316L available for high-chloride environments or extended caustic cleaning cycles. The inner surface is mechanically polished to a 0.4–0.6 μm Ra finish, and all welds are fully penetrated and passivated. The insulation layer uses high-density polyurethane foam, keeping the temperature drift under 1°C over 24 hours when the ambient temperature varies.
The cone bottom is sloped at 60° to allow complete yeast and sediment collection. A butterfly valve at the cone outlet connects directly to a yeast propagation tank or a filtration unit. The upper manway has a 400mm diameter opening, and the tank includes a pressure/vacuum relief valve rated for 0.25 bar working pressure. The cooling jackets are split into two independent zones, so you can cool the upper and lower sections separately—useful when the tank is partially filled or when you want to control the temperature gradient during cold stabilization.
For cleaning, the tank comes with a fixed spray ball positioned to cover the entire inner surface, including the cone area. A sight glass and sample valve are installed at the lower sidewall, and the tank legs are adjustable with floor anchors included.

FAQ
What beer types is this tank suited for?
It works for ales, lagers, and wine. The double jacket gives enough cooling power for primary fermentation, and the cone allows yeast harvesting.
Can I add a glycol chiller later?
Yes, the jacket connections are standard tri-clamp fittings, so you can connect any chiller with a matching flow rate.
How does the pressure relief valve work?
It opens at 0.25 bar to prevent overpressure from CO2 buildup, and it also allows vacuum relief when the tank is being emptied or cleaned.
Is the tank CIP-able?
The spray ball and smooth welds make it fully cleanable with a standard CIP skid. We recommend a caustic wash followed by acid rinse.
Purchasing Guidance
Before requesting a quote, define your batch size, the type of beer or wine you produce, and the number of tanks you plan to install. Also measure your ceiling height and door width to ensure the tank can be delivered and positioned. Tell us your glycol chiller capacity or planned cooling load, and we will confirm the jacket area and flow rate required. If you need a different volume, cone angle, or additional ports, we can adjust the design.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
