500L Copper Still Setup — Sized for Rum and Whiskey Runs
We build these 500L units for distilleries that have outgrown a 200L or 300L pot and aren\’t ready to jump into a 1000L column. Working charge sits near 400L, which gives you roughly 55–65 gallons of low wines per stripping run on an 8–10% wash. That number is what actually drives your barrel-fill calendar.
Copper where it counts
Helmet, column, lyne arm, and condenser are copper. Boiler shell is 304 stainless, 3mm plate. Rum producers usually ask us to leave the vapor-path copper unpainted — sulfur binding is real, and heavy molasses runs will show it within the first few months.

Electric or steam — the call you can\’t undo
Smaller sites go electric: no boiler, no steam ticket, simpler maintenance. Anyone stripping continuously or already holding a steam header picks the jacketed version. We\’ve watched two customers start electric, then add a second shift and wish they hadn\’t.
Options we quote most often
Gin basket, agitator, CIP spray ball, extra bubble plates, and an oversized condenser for high-altitude sites.
Freight is where projects stall. A 500L column unit ships on a flat rack, so pull the skid dimensions before pouring the slab. For an accurate quote, send us wash ABV, target proof, heating source, ceiling height, and your narrowest door width.
