Description
A 10 BBL conical fermenter holds roughly 310 gallons of working volume, sized so one brew day fills one tank without pushing your kettle past its limit. We build these as pressure-rated vessels with a real dished top and a full cone, not open tanks with a lid bolted on afterward.
Bodies and cones are rolled from 304 stainless as standard. Breweries running kettle sours or heavier caustic wash cycles usually move up to 316L for the cone and lower body. Either grade gets pickled and passivated at the welds, with product-contact surfaces polished to a sanitary finish. Exterior polish stays practical unless the tank is going where customers can see it.
How we build the tank
- Dished top with 3-4 in dry hop and CIP port, 1.5 in sample valve, pressure relief
- 60 degree cone, 2 in bottom outlet, butterfly valve, racking arm above it
- Dimple jackets on the cone plus two or three body zones
- TIG welds, full penetration, ground and passivated on all product contact
- 15 psi working pressure, hydro tested at 1.5x, safety valve set to match
Cooling surface is where most quotations go wrong. A 10 BBL tank crashing from 68F to 34F in a day needs more jacket area than one simply held at fermentation temperature. Give us your glycol supply temperature and crash schedule, and we size the jackets from that instead of a catalog default.

Questions we get before orders
Why a conical instead of a flat bottom? Yeast and trub drop into the cone and leave through the bottom outlet. You crop yeast cleaner and lose less beer during transfers.
How does CIP work? A spray ball in the top cone distributes caustic and rinse across the whole interior. The racking arm and sample valve come apart for manual cleaning.
What does the safety valve have to do with pressure? The tank is rated at 15 psi, so the relief valve is set at or below that figure. Never substitute a higher-rated valve to speed carbonation.
304 or 316L? Standard ales and lagers run fine on 304. Sour programs, salted styles and aggressive chemical regimes justify 316L on wetted parts.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
