Description
5000L Open-Top Wine Fermenter for Flexible Red Production
This 5000 L tank is built for wineries that need to move fermentation capacity around the cellar, not bolt it to one floor position. The open top gives access for punch-down, cap management, and manual additions. Forklift pockets and stackable feet let you store empty tanks or run them on a mezzanine when floor space is tight.
We normally make the body in SUS304. If you process high-acid or high-chloride fruit, or wash with chlorinated water, 316L is the better choice. Internal welds are ground flush, pickled, and passivated. The dimple plate jacket is welded to the side wall and lower zone, giving even coolant coverage without a bulky external coil.
Key Specifications
| Parameter | Specification |
| Capacity | 5000 L working volume |
| Material | SUS304 or SUS316L |
| Surface finish | Internal 2B or mirror polish; external brushed or 2B |

Cooling water connections are 1.5 in. or 2 in., depending on your chiller loop. The jacket is rated around 0.3 MPa; the tank itself is atmospheric because the top is open. A removable lid, CIP spray ball, thermowell, sample valve, racking port, and bottom drain can be added to match your cellar practice.
FAQ
Why choose open top instead of closed? Red fermentation needs oxygen and access. Open top makes punch-down and pomace removal practical.
Can it be stacked? Yes, when empty. Stacking feet engage the tank below. Do not stack full tanks.
What forklift capacity is required? Plan for the empty tank weight plus residual liquid and attachments. A 2.5-3 t forklift is usually enough for a 5000 L unit, but confirm with our engineering team.
How is cleaning done? Small wineries often clean manually. For larger crews, add a spray ball and removable lid. Passivation after weld repairs keeps the surface stable.
Before quoting, we need your batch size, fruit type, desired fermentation temperature, available ceiling height, forklift capacity, and coolant supply temperature. Tell us your batch size, wine type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your winery.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
