Description
Sized for a Working Brewery, Not a Pilot Line
Ten thousand liters per turn is the point where a brewery runs two to four brews a day and still keeps packaging fed. Our standard build pairs a mash/lauter tun with separate kettle and whirlpool vessels, a hot liquor tank sized for two turns, plus the platform, transfer piping, centrifugal pumps and two-stage plate heat exchanger that connect them.
Vessel layout drives performance more than the equipment list does. We set lauter tun diameter and false-bottom open area against the grist load and the runoff rate you actually run, not against a catalog number. Kettle jacket area is calculated from the ramp you need — a 1.5 C per minute rise on a 10000 L batch calls for a different steam surface than a gentle 0.8 C climb.
Fabrication and Materials
- Shell and dish in AISI 304, 3 mm minimum; 316L available where chloride in the brewing water or CIP chemistry is a concern
- Dimple or pillow jackets on kettle and HLT, tested at 0.6 MPa and rated for 0.3 MPa working steam
- Product-contact welds ground, pickled and passivated; internal finish Ra 0.8 µm or better
- 80–100 mm rock wool insulation under stainless cladding to hold jacket efficiency and protect operators
- Tri-clamp ferrules, DIN or SMS as requested; tangential whirlpool inlet and slotted run-off laterals

Where This Configuration Fits
Craft breweries moving past 2000 L systems, contract brewers, and beverage plants adding a wort line for malt-based drinks. Single-vessel brewpubs usually stop at 2000 L; at 10000 L, separate mash and lauter vessels keep you free to start the next mash while the previous runoff finishes.
Common Questions
Steam or direct fire? Steam gives even heat and no scorching on the kettle bottom; direct fire costs less upfront but limits jacket control. We quote both.
Can the whirlpool double as a holding tank? Yes if you allow a settle window between knockout and cooling; otherwise keep the vessels separate.
How is CIP handled? Spray balls on every vessel, a common return manifold, and a dedicated pump path — wort lines are cleaned separately from the fermenter loop.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the vessel volume, heating area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
