Description

Built for the 5000 L step

Most breweries arrive at 5000 L batches after a few years on a 1000–2000 L system. At this size the brewhouse stops being a scaled-up pilot plant and becomes a production asset: transfer times, wort clarity and repeatability matter more than raw capacity. Our turnkey supply covers malt handling, milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, whirlpool, wort cooling, fermentation, CIP and controls, piped and pre-wired wherever shipping dimensions allow.

Fabrication details worth checking

Product-contact surfaces are typically 316L where chloride exposure or aggressive CIP cycles are expected; 304 is common for exterior cladding and non-contact frames. Interior welds are ground, pickled and passivated, with roughness held at Ra ≤ 0.6 µm on fermentation surfaces. Dimple jackets are welded and pressure-tested at 1.5× working pressure before insulation goes on, because a leaking jacket under 80 mm of polyurethane is an expensive discovery. Tri-clamp ferrule spacing follows your preferred hygienic standard, and every port is mapped on an as-built drawing.

Where this plant fits

  • Regional craft breweries running 2–4 brews per day
  • Contract packaging sites with changing recipes
  • Beverage plants adding a kombucha or malt-based line
  • Brewpubs expanding from pilot to wholesale volume

Common questions

How much saleable beer per brew? Expect roughly 4800–5000 L into fermenter after trub and shrinkage losses, depending on boil-off and hop load.

Can it handle high-gravity wort? Yes, but declare the target Plato before we size the exchanger and jackets. A 16 °P boil needs different cooling area than a 12 °P one.

What level of automation is realistic? Recipe-driven step control with manual valve backup is what most buyers actually run. Full automatic valve manifolds are available, though they raise CIP complexity.

What utilities do we need on site? Steam or electrical capacity, chilled water or glycol, compressed air at 6 bar and a CIP caustic tank sized to the vessel volume.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
