We\’ve shipped this 200L copper pot still with a multi-column head to whiskey houses, gin rooms, and contract distilleries that wanted one vessel to do two jobs: a flavorful pot-still spirit and a cleaner, higher-proof column run. It is a working machine, not a showpiece — though the polished red copper does earn its place in a tasting room.
What the 200L frame actually does
Batch size is the number that decides everything else. A 200L pot takes a 160–180L charge, which suits a distillery running two to four stripping runs a week on a 500–1000L fermenter. Below that, you are heating copper you don\’t fill. Above it, you lose the flexibility that makes a small column worth owning.

Copper where it counts
Pot, column plates, lyne arm, and condenser shell are copper. Sulfur binding happens in the vapor path, so plating the column interior while leaving the vapor line in stainless gets you half the benefit. Column flanges and gaskets are stainless for service life.
Electric or steam — the real difference
If you don\’t have a boiler and a licensed steam fitter, go electric. It\’s slower to respond and costs more per liter, but a 24 kW element bank and a 400V supply is something most small sites can actually install. Steam gives you faster ramp and gentler heat on grain washes, and it frees up floor space in the still room.

- Gin basket — sized for a 12–18 kg botanical charge in vapor path
- Agitator — needed for grain-in or fruit washes, not for clear molasses
- Extra plates and a sight glass for reflux tuning
- CIP spray ball and 2\” bottom drain
Before we quote, send us your wash ABV, target proof, batches per week, ceiling clearance, power or steam availability, and destination port. Those six answers change the price more than any option list does. We\’ll tell you if 200L is wrong for your plan — sometimes 300L costs barely more and gives you room to grow.
