Description

What the 2 bbl turnkey system covers

A 2 bbl brewhouse suits pilot batches, taproom production and recipe trials where 60–70 gal finished beer per brew is practical. We build the skid around your heating source and floor plan: two-vessel mash/lauter plus kettle/whirlpool, or a three-vessel layout when brewers need more overlap. Scope usually includes brewhouse vessels, HLT, plate heat exchanger, transfer pump, piping, CIP and controls. Fermenters, brite tanks and glycol can be included to match your cellar plan.

Fabrication details that affect daily operation

Product-contact surfaces are normally SUS304; we use 316L where chloride exposure or customer standards call for it. Welds are ground and passivated on wetted seams, with pickled areas where needed. Shells are polished to a practical sanitary finish rather than a show finish. We pressure-test jackets and vessels before shipment and set relief valves to the approved working pressure. Manway gaskets, clamp fittings and valve seats are selected for repeated CIP and steam or chemical sanitizing.

Applications and utility planning

Small breweries, brewpubs, distilleries doing wash runs and beverage labs use this size for limited releases and process development. Confirm available steam, power, water flow and drain capacity before finalizing the layout. A 2 bbl system can fit a tight room, but pump clearances, grain-out access and tank headspace still need real dimensions.

FAQ

Can I start with brewhouse only? Yes. Many customers add fermenters later as cellar demand grows.

Why specify cooling jackets and pressure ratings? Jackets hold fermentation temperature; relief valves protect vessels from overpressure during cleaning and transfers.

How is CIP connected? CIP supply, return and spray ball paths are planned with tank ports and pump routing.

What information do we need for a quote? Batch volume, beer style, tank count, utility details, room dimensions and preferred heating method.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
