Description
We build column stills for people who already know what they want to make. Most customers come to us after a year or two on a small pot still, hitting the same wall: proof strength that drifts, muddy cuts, or more liters than one person can run by hand.
Column type comes first
A 4-plate copper column gives you a light, clean base for gin and vodka. Add plates or a packed section and you push past 90% abv. Whiskey distillers usually want fewer plates and more copper — the vapor path matters more than the plate count.
Copper where it counts: the column, the dephlegmator, and the vapor line above the pot. Stainless for the boiler shell and condenser tubes is fine, and cheaper.
What 200L, 500L, and 1000L really mean
200L to 300L suits a brewpub or a distillery running two to four runs a week. 500L is the workhorse for a regional brand. 1000L only makes sense when steam, cooling water, and floor drains are already in place. A 500L with the column off takes roughly 12 sqm and 3.5m of ceiling height.
Electric immersion elements are cheap to install. Above 1000L they get slow and expensive to run. Steam jackets heat faster and hold cuts better, which is worth the plumbing if you already own a boiler.

- CIP spray ball, sight glasses, sample valve
