Description
A 1000L Tank Is Not Always 1000L
Nominal capacity on a fermenter usually refers to usable volume below the racking arm, not gross vessel volume. Our 10BBL / 10HL conical tanks ship with roughly 1,200L of total volume, which leaves the headspace needed for krausen, CO2 blowoff, and dry hopping without pushing foam into the blowoff arm.
Materials and Fabrication
Standard builds use SUS304 with a 3mm inner shell and 2mm outer cladding. Breweries running sours, high-chloride water, or long-term storage of acidic beverages should move to 316L on wetted surfaces. Interior welds are TIG, ground flush, and passivated; product contact surfaces are mechanically polished to 0.4–0.6 μm Ra. Dimpled cooling jackets are laser-welded to the shell and pressure tested before insulation goes on. That order matters — a leaking jacket hidden under 80mm of polyurethane is an expensive repair.
Cooling and Pressure
Jackets cover the cone and lower cylinder in two or three zones. For ales fermented at 20°C ambient, one cone jacket plus one cylinder zone handles most 7–14 day ferments. Lagers near 10°C with glycol at -4°C need more cooling area, especially if you crash cool on a tight schedule. Working pressure is typically 1.5 bar (3 bar test); each tank ships with a set pressure relief valve matched to that rating, plus tri-clamp ports for CIP, blowoff, racking, and sampling.

Questions We Get Before Every Order
Do I need a 60° cone? It is the default because yeast and trub slide to the bottom port without manual help. Worts with heavy adjunct loads sometimes justify a steeper cone, but 60° covers most ales and lagers.
Can I dry hop in this tank? Yes — specify a 4-inch top hop port and a racking arm positioned above the cone so you draw clear beer.
How do I size the glycol chiller? Add the peak heat load of all tanks fermenting at once, then allow 20–25% headroom. Undersized chillers show up as stalled crashes, not as obvious failures.
What We Need From You
Batch size, beer style, number of tanks, ceiling height, and floor layout determine volume, cooling area, and port positions. Send those details and we will come back with a drawing and a configured price. Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
