Description

Where a 2500–3500 L brewhouse fits

Most inquiries in this capacity range come from breweries leaving the 1000 L pilot stage — enough volume to supply regional accounts, still small enough that one operator can carry a full brew day. All three sizes share a common platform. What changes is vessel diameter, jacket surface area and pump sizing, not the control logic.

Materials and fabrication

SUS304 is standard for the brewhouse. We switch the wort contact side to 316L when the customer runs sour programs or CIP with chloride-bearing chemicals. Product contact surfaces are ground to Ra ≤ 0.6 µm, then pickled and passivated. Exterior gets a #320 hairline finish, or mirror polish if the tanks sit behind glass in the taproom.

Welds are TIG, full penetration, argon purged inside. Each vessel and every jacket is hydro-tested before crating; dimple jackets are pressure-tested separately and documented.

Seals are where a lot of lines quietly fail. EPDM for wort and beer duty, silicone where steam enters the picture, PTFE-faced gaskets on manway doors that get opened twice a day.

Applications

Craft breweries, brewpub groups, contract canning operations, and beverage plants running kombucha or malt-based non-alcoholic bases. Standard configuration covers automatic step mashing, a raking-machine lauter tun, whirlpool, and two-stage plate cooling.

Questions we get before an order

How many brews per day do you expect? That number, not the tank volume, usually decides whether you need one brewhouse or two, and whether the HLT needs to be 1.5× or 2× the mash volume.

Do you need pressure-rated vessels? Fermenters and brite tanks carry a relief valve set at the design pressure — typically 1.5–3 bar — and the valve must be sized for the worst-case CO2 or CIP air scenario. We specify it, we do not guess at it.

How do the lines route? Tri-clamp connections are standard; we confirm the wort, CIP and glycol supply/return positions against your floor plan, because a 3500 L tank with the wrong port height is a permanent problem.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
