Description

A brite tank is where beer finishes. After primary fermentation you transfer into it for clarification, carbonation and cold conditioning ahead of packaging. Breweries that carbonate in the fermenter already know the cost: slower carbonation, more yeast carryover, and fermenter time tied up when the next batch is waiting.

How we build them

Our 1000L and 2000L brite tanks are 304 stainless steel as standard, with 316L available for sour programs or plants where chloride levels in cleaning chemicals run high. Shell and heads are 3 mm; the bottom is a 60-degree cone for yeast and trub. Vessels are TIG welded, then pickled and passivated along the seams. Interior finish is 2B mill or 320-grit polish, exterior brushed 304 over 80 mm polyurethane insulation.

Cooling comes from dimple jackets on both shell and cone, sized for glycol at 28-30 F. Jacket area decides how fast a 2000L tank crashes and whether the beer stratifies during carbonation. We calculate jacket coverage against your target cooling rate rather than tank volume alone, which is where undersized tanks usually show up first.

Standard fittings include a CIP spray ball, dry hop port, racking arm, sample valve, pressure gauge, carbonation stone with check valve, and a 2.5 bar relief valve on a 2 bar working-pressure vessel. Legs are 304 with adjustable feet.

Typical users are craft breweries packaging in kegs or cans, contract brewers running several brands on one line, cider and kombucha producers, and brewpubs carbonating for taproom service.

Questions we get before quoting

Brite tank or unitank? If fermentation and conditioning happen in the same vessel, a unitank saves floor space. A separate brite tank pays off when you need fermentation capacity freed up and consistent carbonation on every batch.

What glycol supply do I need? Send us your chiller capacity and header size. A 2000L tank with full jacket coverage needs more flow than a 1000L, and a shared loop that is already near its limit will slow both.

Can the configuration change? Yes. Port positions, cone angle, leg height, jacket coverage and polish level are all made to your drawings.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
