Description
Twenty barrels is the volume where a brewhouse stops being a side project and starts demanding process discipline. At 2000L you are usually running two to four brews a day, so heat-up rate, lautering speed, and how fast a vessel turns around between batches decide your output far more than any single number on a datasheet.
We build these as two-, three-, or four-vessel sets — mash/lauter tun, kettle, whirlpool, hot liquor tank — sized to your brew length and to the heat source you actually have on site. Standard shells are 3mm SUS304; kettles and any surface seeing aggressive caustic or acid cycling can be upgraded to 316L. Dimple jackets on kettle and HLT, 50mm insulation, 2B mill finish on product-contact surfaces, weld seams pickled and passivated. Exterior gets 320-grit satin unless mirror polish is specified.
Welds are what experienced buyers inspect first. Ours are TIG with argon purge, dye-penetrant checked, then passivated. A tank that looks bright but has an untreated heat-affected zone will bloom rouge inside a year — usually right where the jacket meets the shell.
These systems suit brewpubs, contract canning producers, and regional breweries adding capacity in 20BBL blocks. Floor space, ceiling height for the kettle manway, and CIP return slope are the three things that quietly kill installations, so confirm them before the layout is frozen.

Common questions
Can this run without a steam boiler? Yes. Electric immersion and direct-fire versions exist, but element fouling means longer cleaning cycles and a spare element on the shelf.
Do I need a separate whirlpool? If you brew one batch a day, combining kettle and whirlpool works. Above that, the turnaround loss costs you more than the extra vessel.
Can tanks be added later? Only if the brewhouse was oversized at the start. Adding 20BBL to a system designed for two brews a day is straightforward; tripling it usually is not.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
