Description
Built for the way your cellar actually runs
We make jacketed beer fermentation tanks from 200 L pilot units up to 10,000 L production vessels. The job never changes: hold wort steady through primary fermentation, then crash cool without shocking the yeast. Cone angle, jacket zoning, and fitting layout all follow from how you brew.
Shell, cone, and surface finish
SUS304 is standard. Step up to SUS316L when you ferment sours, fruit beers, or anything sitting on high-chloride process water. Inner shells run 3 mm on small tanks and 4 mm on the 10,000 L units. A 60° cone is the default; 70° helps when you dry hop heavily or need cleaner trub drop. Interior welds are ground and passivated, with product-contact finish at Ra ≤ 0.6 µm unless you specify otherwise.
Cooling comes from dimple or pillow-plate jackets welded directly to the shell — one on the cone, one or two on the cylinder. Insulation is 80–100 mm polyurethane under stainless or embossed aluminum cladding.
Pressure and connections
Working pressure is usually 1.5 bar in the tank and 3 bar in the jacket, with a 2 bar safety valve on top. Rated test pressure is not a working number. Bunging a 1.5 bar tank at 2 bar for carbonation is how cone seams get stressed.
Standard ports: top manway, CIP spray ball, dry hop port, pressure gauge, sample valve, racking arm, bottom dump. We cut DIN, Tri-Clamp, or BSP to match what your cellar already uses.
Capacity guide
| Volume | Typical use | Cone | Jackets |
|---|---|---|---|
| 200–500 L | Pilot batches, taproom trials | 60° | Cone + 1 |
| 1000–2000 L | Small craft brewery | 60° | Cone + 1–2 |
| 3000–5000 L | Commercial production | 60° / 70° | Cone + 2 |
| 10000 L | High-volume cellar | 60° / 70° | Cone + 2–3 |
Size the tank roughly 25% above your batch volume for headspace. Small breweries often run one tank per recipe and rotate; production cellars run banks of identical tanks so CIP and glycol loops stay simple.
Common questions
Why jacket area matters more than tank size? A 3000 L tank with undersized jackets will take hours to crash cool. Give us your wort temperature, target temperature, and cooling time — we calculate the area.
How is CIP handled? Spray ball on top, drain at the cone bottom, and a pump loop through the racking arm if you want full coverage.
Can one tank serve two roles? Yes, with a certified pressure rating and a carbonation stone port, but unitanks cost more than single-purpose fermenters.
Send us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks, and available floor space. We will come back with tank volume, cooling area, and a port configuration that fits your cellar.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
