Description
1000L SUS304 Fermenter for Ale and Lager Production
A 1000 L vessel usually sits between pilot brewing and small commercial output. The batch size is large enough to supply regular accounts, yet small enough to change recipes without dumping excess beer. We build this tank around that working rhythm: repeatable temperature control, reliable yeast removal and cleaning access that does not slow down the cellar team.
The shell and cone are formed from SUS304 stainless steel. For breweries using aggressive chloride-based cleaning or coastal air, 316L is available. Welds are ground and passivated on product-contact surfaces. Inner surfaces are polished to a practical sanitary finish, typically Ra ≤ 0.8 µm, while the outer shell receives a brushed finish. Dimple cooling jackets cover the cone and lower cylinder; insulation and a stainless cladding keep glycol demand stable in warm cellars.
Cooling, pressure and cleaning
Ale fermentation generates heat quickly. Lager needs tighter control over a longer period. Jacket area, glycol flow and sensor placement matter more than a controller display. We position the temperature probe in the product zone and size the jacket for the batch, not just the tank volume. A pressure relief valve protects the vessel during fermentation and CIP. Working pressure and safety valve setting are matched to your process, not left as a generic factory figure.
The tank includes a CIP spray ball, racking arm, sample valve, CO2 blow-off and tri-clamp connections. Dry hopping and yeast dumping ports can be added. Layout depends on your room height, floor drainage and glycol pipe routing.

FAQ
Can one tank handle ale and lager? Yes, if jacket area and control are sized for lager’s slower, tighter profile. Do not assume a standard ale jacket will hold lager temperatures in a hot room.
Why use a conical bottom? It gives yeast a collection zone and supports clean racking. Shallow cones suit some top-cropping ale schedules; steeper cones help with lager yeast and dry hopping.
SUS304 or 316L? SUS304 covers most brewery duty. Choose 316L when cleaning chemicals, water chemistry or ambient conditions put chloride resistance first.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
