Description
What this tank does in the brewery
A brite beer tank is a conditioning and carbonation vessel. It receives beer after fermentation, holds it under pressure, and keeps it cold until packaging. The 200 L, 500 L, and 1000 L sizes cover pilot batches, taproom production, and small commercial runs. This is not a fermenter replacement. It is the tank that protects finished beer from oxygen pickup and temperature swings before the filler or keg line.
Build details that affect beer quality
We fabricate the shell and dished heads from SUS304 stainless steel. Weld seams are TIG welded, then pickled and passivated. Product contact surfaces are ground and polished to a sanitary finish, commonly Ra <= 0.8 µm. Breweries using aggressive cleaning chemicals or long storage cycles sometimes specify 316L for the product contact shell. The side manway gives access for inspection and manual cleaning, while CIP remains the normal routine. A shadowless manway light and 360-degree spray ball help verify coverage.
The glycol cooling jacket is dimple or channel type, sized by volume and required pull-down time. A 200 L tank may need one jacket zone; a 1000 L brite tank often uses two zones to reduce stratification. Insulation is PU foam, usually 80–100 mm, covered with stainless or aluminum cladding. Working pressure is typically 1.5–2.0 bar. The pressure relief valve must match the tank rating and the carbonation target. Carbonation stones, sample valves, racking arms, and hop ports are available. Side manways are often 300–400 mm with a sanitary gasket and clamp. Gasket material matters: EPDM is common, but silicone or Viton may suit certain cleaning regimes.
Typical specifications
| Model | Nominal volume | Working pressure | Cooling jacket | Side manway | Material |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 200 L | 200 L | 1.5–2.0 bar | Single zone | 300 mm | SUS304 |
| 500 L | 500 L | 1.5–2.0 bar | Single or dual zone | 350 mm | SUS304 |
| 1000 L | 1000 L | 1.5–2.0 bar | Dual zone | 400 mm | SUS304 |
FAQ
Can I carbonate in this tank? Yes, with a carbonation stone and proper pressure control. Confirm the relief valve setting before adding CO2.
How do I connect beer, CIP, and glycol? We position tri-clamp ports for racking arm, sample valve, CIP return, glycol in/out, and pressure gauge according to your layout. Send a sketch of the brewhouse or tank farm if the piping is tight.
What should I prepare before requesting a quote? Batch size, beer style, target carbonation, available ceiling height, glycol temperature, and whether the tank will be indoors or outdoors. These details decide jacket area, port placement, insulation, and frame design.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
