Description
We build this 500L copper pot column system for distillers who have outgrown a 200L or 300L kettle but aren\’t ready for the utilities a 1000L plant demands. Copper sits where it does the work — pot, still head, column, gin basket, condenser. The shell, collection tank, and everything downstream of the condenser run stainless.
Heating comes up in every quote. A 500L electric kettle wants roughly 80 to 100A of three-phase power and heats a 25% wash in about two hours. Steam jackets and bain-marie setups treat the wash more gently, cut scorching, and let you strip and spirit-run the same day, but they add a boiler, feedwater treatment, and someone who can service both. No boiler, no room for one — go electric, and size the element set to your slowest acceptable heat-up, not the fastest.

Two things buyers miss. Gin baskets need headroom above the column so you can load botanicals without dropping them into the vapor path — ours swings out on an arm with a bypass, so whiskey and gin can run back to back. And copper belongs in the vapor path, not necessarily in the tank. Most whiskey and gin makers leave the collection tank stainless.
For a quote, tell us charge volume, target ABV, wash type, heating source, ceiling height, door width, floor loading, and whether you want an agitator or CIP. Capacity is the easy part to change. Site constraints aren\’t.
