Description

700 L brewhouse and fermentation package

This 700 L commercial system suits brewpubs, restaurant breweries, and small production plants making light lager, ale, and pilot batches. A used package can be a practical route when vessel condition is documented and the control package still matches your utilities. We review shell thickness, jacket integrity, weld quality, pump seals, valve seats, and controller availability before quoting.

Fabrication and material points

Product-contact vessels are typically SUS304; use 316L where chloride exposure, aggressive cleaning, or product risk justifies the cost. Look for full-penetration welds on product surfaces, proper purge on sanitary lines, and polishing that supports draining rather than only appearance. Clamp gaskets, butterfly valve seats, and pump seals should be rated for caustic and acid CIP cycles. Jackets need pressure testing, and insulation must stay dry to prevent corrosion under the cladding.

Temperature control matters most during fermentation. A 700 L conical fermenter needs enough cooling jacket area and glycol flow to hold 50–54°F for ale or 48–50°F for lager, depending on yeast and process. CIP should reach the cone, dish, racking arm, and sample valve. Confirm tri-clamp connections, CIP spray ball access, and independent pressure relief sizing.

Parameter Typical specification
Batch size 700 L
Material SUS304 or 316L product contact
Vessel type Brewhouse, fermenter, or cellar tank as configured
Cooling Dimple jacket, glycol service
Connections Tri-clamp, CIP, racking arm, sample valve
Pressure Per vessel rating; relief valve sized to service
Finish Sanitary weld and polished product contact

Practical selection notes

Small brewpubs often run one brewhouse with several fermenters; commercial plants need matched kettle, whirlpool, and cellar capacity. Do not size a used 700 L system only by tank volume. Check available ceiling height, floor drains, steam or electric power, glycol chiller capacity, and future tank count.

FAQ: Can a used system be reconfigured? Yes, if vessel drawings, jacket test records, and control diagrams are available. What spare parts should be requested? Valve seats, gaskets, pump seals, relief valves, and sensor fittings. How do we verify cleanliness? Request CIP routing, spray-ball coverage, and passivation records.

Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
