Description
A 2000L conical fermenter is typically specified when a brewery is ready to move beyond pilot batches but doesn\’t yet need a full production cellar. At that volume, you\’re dealing with roughly 17 hectoliters per batch—enough to support a taproom or regional distribution without committing to a 40-barrel brewhouse.
We build these vessels from 304 stainless steel with a 2B mill finish as standard. For breweries producing sour or highly acidic beers, we recommend upgrading to 316L on wetted surfaces. The cone is drawn to a 60-degree included angle, which gives yeast a reliable path to the bottom port during cropping. A 70-degree cone is available for high-adjunct or fruit-heavy fermentations where trub and solids tend to bridge.
Cooling is handled by a dimpled jacket on the cone and a separate jacket on the cylindrical body. This dual-zone layout lets you crash the cone to 34°F while holding the main volume at 65°F—a common need during diacetyl rests and dry hopping. Glycol ports are 1.5-inch tri-clamp, positioned so the jacket drains fully without trapping air.
The tank is rated to 15 PSI working pressure with a 30 PSI test. We ship each unit with an adjustable pressure relief valve and a 25 PSI rupture disc. The relief valve should be set no higher than 80% of the tank\’s design pressure. If your process calls for carbonating in the fermenter, this pressure rating supports natural carbonation without a separate brite tank.
CIP comes through a rotating spray ball mounted in the top manway. We use a 360-degree static ball for tanks up to 20 BBL and a rotary spray head over that. The racking arm is adjustable in 90-degree increments, which helps with clarity when you\’re pulling from different heights in the cone.
For connections, we standardize on tri-clamp throughout. Your glycol loop, CO2 blow-off, sample valve, and racking port all land on 1.5-inch or 2-inch ferrules. If your cellar uses DIN or RJT fittings, tell us at the design stage—retrofitting after fabrication adds cost.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose between a 2000L and a 3000L tank? Match the batch size to your brewhouse output. If your kettle produces 2000L and you plan to brew once per day, a 2000L fermenter is correct. If you brew twice per day into the same tank, you\’ll need headspace that a larger tank provides.
Can I carbonate in this fermenter? Yes, up to 15 PSI working pressure. However, carbonating in the fermenter ties up the vessel for an extra day or two. Many breweries carbonate in a brite tank instead to turn the fermenter faster.
What glycol temperature do you recommend? Feed at 28°F for most ales. For lagers at 50°F fermentation, 28°F glycol gives enough differential without freezing the jacket.
Do you provide installation drawings? Yes, we supply CAD layouts with anchor bolt patterns, glycol loop schematics, and utility connection points before shipment.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

Customer Review
We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
