Description
Breweries asking about 2000L and 3000L vessels usually have the same problem: fermentation capacity has become the bottleneck, not the brewhouse. A 3000L tank holds roughly two brews from a 15 hl brewhouse, which is often the point where a brewery stops juggling tanks and starts running a real production calendar.
These are vertical cylinders with a dished top and a 60° or 70° cone. Cone angle matters more than most buyers expect. A 60° cone drains trub and yeast cleanly; a shallower cone saves headroom in a low-ceiling cellar but leaves more beer behind at racking. We weld dimple or channel jackets to the cone and lower cylinder, because that is where fermentation heat actually concentrates. Coolant at 28–30°F through a correctly sized jacket holds ale fermentation at 66–68°F without glycol flow rates that starve the rest of the cellar.
Material choice comes down to the beer and the cleaning chemicals. SUS304 covers the majority of ale and lager production. For sour programs, high-chloride water, or aggressive acid CIP, SUS316L on wetted surfaces is worth the cost. Internal welds are ground flush and passivated, and the standard finish is 2B rolled plate with polished weld seams. A full mirror interior is available if your SOP requires it.
Each tank ships with a top manway, CIP spray ball, dry-hop port, racking arm, sample valve, pressure relief valve, and calibrated gauge. Unitanks are typically built to 1.5 bar working / 3 bar test; brite tanks used for carbonation to 2 bar working. The relief valve is a safety boundary, not an accessory, and it should be sized against the gas volume your carbonation stone can produce.
| Volume | 2000L / 3000L (custom to 5000L) |
| Cone | 60° or 70° |
| Material | SUS304 / SUS316L |
| Cooling | Cone + 2–3 cylinder jacket zones |
| Working pressure | 1.5 bar unitank / 2 bar brite |
| Insulation | 80–100 mm polyurethane |
| Connections | DIN or Tri-Clamp |
How many tanks do I need? Count your peak week, not your average. Most 2000L breweries run four to six fermenters per packaging schedule.
Can I carbonate in a unitank? Yes, with a carb stone and a tank rated for the pressure. Brite tanks are easier to fine-tune and hold.
What chiller size? Add up jacket surface area and crash-cooling demand; sizing on tank volume alone is the most common mistake we see.
Tell us your batch size, beer type, number of fermentation tanks and available space. We can recommend the tank volume, cooling area and configuration for your brewery.

We have been using this still for a few batches now making whiskey, gin and a few other spirits and we are very happy with the results so far. The gear works well and gives good control during distillation. The spirit comes out clean and consistent from batch to batch and we have gotten the flavor profile we were looking for. It has also been easy to operate and maintain. It has been a great addition to our distillery and I’d definitely recommend it to other craft distillers looking for reliable equipment.”
